A. APPLICATION PERIODS
Applications for graduate students are accepted twice a year at the dates indicated in the
Academic Calendar (http://fenbilimleri.ankara.edu.tr/tr/duyurular/29-akademik-takvim).
Fall Semester Applications : July-August
Spring Semester Applications : January-February
For the exact date of application students should follow the web page announcements
on that matter (http://fenbilimleri.ankara.edu.tr).

B. GENERAL CONDITIONS
1. Foreign applicants who will apply for a postgraduate program must have a bachelor’s
or master’s degree diploma of an abroad university recognized by the Higher
Education Council (YÖK) according to the program type applied. Also Turkish
candidates who graduated from undergraduate programs in foreign countries must
also have the equivalence certificate received from the Higher Education Council.
2. For the postgraduate program to be applied, grade point average of the appropriate
graduation level must be satisfied (see Table 1).
3. Foreign candidates who have completed their education abroad must have completed
the Turkish Proficiency Test of TÖMER at level C1 or have the Turkish Proficiency
Certificate to be obtained from Yunus Emre Institute. This document is not required
for postgraduate programs in which foreign language instruction is conducted.
4. Adequate foreign language score for the postgraduate program to be applied should
be taken from the Foreign Language Examination (YDS) conducted by ÖSYM (see
Table 1) or equivalent score to YDS should be obtained from the one of the similar
national (YÖKDİL etc.) or international valid foreign language exams accepted by

a: Applications for both Master’s Degree Programs (without or with thesis) and Integrated
Doctorate Program are required undergraduate level grade point average. For Doctorate Program
application graduate level grade point average is necessary.

D. SPECIAL CONDITIONS

PLANT PROTECTION

 The language of the program is English.
 Candidates should be graduated from the departments such as Plant Protection,
Entomology, Plant Pathology, Biology, Molecular Biology and Genetics, Chemistry,
Biochemistry or relevant departments of the Colleges of Agriculture, Natural
Sciences, Life Sciences, Applied Biological Sciences.
 A minimum grade point average of 3.0 over 4.0 score is required.
 Foreign Language Examination (YDS, YÖKDİL or equivalent national examination)
score should be minimum 70 or proper scores should be taken from the one of the
international examinations (CPE=C; CAE=B; TOEFL iBT=84; PTE Academic=71).
